USA Field Hockey announces partnership with University Athlete

January 19, 2012

USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce the official switch from Talent Link to University Athlete. From this point forward, all event based player information will be available through the University Athlete website. University Athlete will serve as a communication tool to assist athletes and college coaches in locating one another. University Athlete is USA Field Hockey’s exclusive recruit/recruiter communication software partner.

For 2012, University Athlete’s mobile software UAR will be available at the following events: Disney Showcase, National Indoor Tournament, Futures Regional Tournaments (all regions), National Futures Championship, Futures Elite Championship, National Club Championship, and National Hockey Festival.

Getting Started:

To get started you must first register with University Athlete. Please use the following link to register www.universityathlete.com/new_college. University Athlete will verify each request, which will be processed within 24 business hours. You will receive an email confirmation. Make sure to select "Women's Field Hockey" as the sport.  Type in part of your school name and select from the list.

If you created a University Athletes account for Festival you’re all set. If you did not create an account, you must do that first. Once you are logged in, you will have the option to purchase a specific event and/or purchase the ability to search the entire U19 database. Disney should be available for purchase by Wednesday, January 25. An email will be sent out when it’s ready, as well as instructions for loading the event on your iPhone/iPad, Android, or Blackberry.

Registered users have the ability to search purchased rosters and schedules prior to events and make evaluation notes and tasks.

University Athlete fees

$75             per program at all events with the exception of Futures Regional Tournaments.

$50             per program at each of the Futures Regional Tournaments

All above options include mobile access for one college and the option to print out a Player Information Guide (PIG) for use by that program only.

About University Athlete

University Athlete (UA) is the premier recruiting tool connecting collegiate coaches and athletes. Already used extensively by college volleyball coaches, UA is now joining with USA Field Hockey to offer its services to college field hockey coaches. UA combines the convenience of an online database with the efficiency of iPhone, Android, and Blackberry to assist coaches' recruiting efforts at tournaments. UA is NOT a recruiting service; UA does not sell athletes to colleges nor promote them in any way.

Exclusive at USA Field Hockey’s National events, all registered college recruiters will have access to UA that will bring tournament rosters, player information, game schedules, game field location, bracket updates and more to your mobile device. Roster and schedule updates can easily be downloaded to your phone as the event goes on so you will always have the latest information without having to hang out at the results board or jot notes off a web site.

UA’s mobile software, called “University Athlete Recruiter” (UAR) contains the complete roster information found in a typical player information guide. It allows you to tag players before the event and automatically builds a schedule for you of all the athletes you want to see sorted by time and field. As you are watching, you can rank players, take notes, even cross someone off your list. Get an email with an excel file of all your work any time. The ability to instantly find any player or team, and evaluate and take notes all without losing valuable time needed to watch games will save you dozens of hours at each event.
