COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Field Hockey is excited to announce that two umpires and one technical official will represent USA in the 2024-25 FIH Hockey Pro League season.

For the upcoming Argentina leg of the 2024-25 FIH Hockey Pro League season, taking place in Santiago del Estero from December 10 to 15, Benjamin Peters will represent USA as an umpire. He will be joined by USA Field Hockey’s Director of Umpiring Sean Rapaport, who will represent South Africa.

At the second Argentina leg, set for February 19 to 23 in Santiago del Estero, Maggie Giddens has been appointed as an umpire and Lurah Hess as a technical official.

To note, Giddens and Peters recently concluded the NCAA season together, officiating the NCAA Division I Final between Northwestern and Saint Joseph’s.

Peters is back in action at the FIH Hockey Pro League after making his debut in the 2023-24 season. His most recent international event was at this year’s FIH Hockey Men’s Nations Cup, which took place in Gniezno, Poland in June. Other recent appointments include the 2023 FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup and 2023 Pan American Games. Peters’ ever-growing resume also includes the FIH Hockey World League, Junior Pan American Championship, Pan American Games, Pan American Cups, and many test series.

Continuing her streak, Giddens has been appointed to every FIH Hockey Pro League season, which first began in 2019. She has represented USA at numerous high-profile events, including the 2024 FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifier in Valencia, Spain this past January and the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile last November. Other prominent past appointments for Giddens include the 2022 FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup and Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Hess returns to the FIH Hockey Pro League after serving as a match manager the last four seasons. This past year, she was appointed as the technical delegate to both the FIH Hockey Women’s Nation Cup in Terrassa, Spain and Pan American Challenge in Lima, Peru. A seasoned technical representative, Hess has also acted as a technical official at the 2023 Pan American Games and 2022 FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup Spain and Netherlands.

Rapaport will be representing South Africa at the FIH Hockey Pro League for the sixth year running after making his Olympic debut this summer at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
