VIENNA, Austria – The No. 10 U.S. Men’s National Indoor Team went up against a tough opponent in No. 9 Poland in the first men’s 2025 Rohrmax Cup semifinal. After an even first quarter, Poland showed their scoring dominance as they upended USA 2-9.

Poland opened the scoring in the 3rd minute putting in a rebound that was initially stopped by USA goalkeeper Amar Singh (Santa Clara, Calif.). Majority of the middle portion of the quarter showed equal possession before USA evened the score with 13 seconds before the break. Aki Kaeppeler (New York City, N.Y.) ran forward, delivered to Kei Kaeppeler (Stuttgart, Germany) and received it back for the powerful finish, 1-1.

It took until midway through the second frame for the scoreline to change. A reverse pass from the left board got through to the right and found an open Poland striker who converted. USA had a close chance minutes later, when patient passing led to K. Kaeppeler releasing just inside the circle, but the attempt was saved. Time ticked on but Poland added three more goals in the final 2 minutes. First a ball in the left corner was threaded through for the far post finish. Next a miss trap on USA’s backline led to a solid finish. Lastly, a Poland striker maneuvered along the left base line, spun back and scored to make it 1-5.

Poland added two more in the third quarter. First in the 23rd minute capitalizing on a baseline run which was dropped back to the stroke mark. Next, 3 minutes later, off a penalty corner slip. USA didn’t go through without producing their own looks, specifically a set piece chance that was stopped by a rushing Poland goalkeeper.

Poland continued adding to their lead, tallying again in the 32nd and 37th minutes in the final frame. USA didn’t let up as A. Kaeppeler put one on the board off a penalty corner with 2 minutes to go to bring it to 2-9.

The Wolves will face No. 22 Croatia tomorrow at 7:55 a.m. ET in the 3rd/4th place match.

The event will be live streamed on SV Arminen TV (YouTube).
