Now in their sixth season, PA United is quickly becoming a high-level field hockey club in the Central Pennsylvania area. PA United believes in creating a fun, yet highly competitive environment – focusing on skills, game sense, and fostering a high work ethic in its players. The club was founded in 2018 by former U.S. Women’s National Team athlete and three-time NCAA National Champion Bri Price. What started as a small program with just 64 athletes and four coaches, the club has now grown to have more than 350 athletes and 24 coaches in 2025. The current coaching staff consists entirely of coaches who have played collegiate level field hockey.

As the demand to grow field hockey in the Pennsylvania area increases, PA United has been there to help answer the call. In 2023, the club purchased their own indoor facility, which includes a full-size indoor sport court and indoor gym to help athletes with weight training. PA United offers year-round training for athletes from kindergarten to college, which includes a U-8 program to help players get started with field hockey from a young age.

PA United participates in numerous tournaments and showcases throughout the year, including many USA Field Hockey events. For example, teams have represented all age groups from U-10 to U-19 in the National Indoor Tournament (NIT) the past five years. PA United sent U-16 and U-19 teams to the Regional Club Championships (RCC) and Shooting Star for the last three and five years, respectively. Over the past several seasons, the club has been increasing the quality of their teams, picking up more national recognition than ever before. This past year, PA United had a U-14 and U-16 team win their pool at NIT, while a U-12 team won in 2023. U-14 and U-19 teams both brought home gold for winning their pool at the 2024 Sunshine Showcase.

The acquisition of their new facility – named PA United Sports – has helped the club enhance field hockey in the area. In addition to the basic offerings of practices and tournaments, the club also provides additional opportunities and resources for athletes – for those who are a part of the club and occasionally for those not affiliated with the club as well. This past May, PA United coach AJ Misselhorn put on a recruiting seminar at PA United Sports, open to parents or recruits interested in learning more about college recruiting and best practices. The seminar included a panel of current NCAA coaches to field questions from the attendees. Throughout the year, PA United also holds a variety of clinics, hosted by college coaches, such as Lock Haven head coach Anna Rogers and Stevenson head coach Morgan Bitting, and even U.S. Women’s National Team athletes like Maddie Zimmer.

Congratulations once again to PA United for winning the 2024 National Club of the Year Award.
