Two Umpires & One Technical Official to Represent USA at 2025 CanAm Indoor Series

ONTARIO, Canada – USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce that two umpires and one technical official will be heading to Ontario, Canada this weekend to represent the USA at the 2025 CanAm Indoor Series. Umpires Ridge Bair and Katie Bulk will be joined by technical official Samantha Flood.

The CanAm Indoor Series is an annual tournament featuring teams from Canada and the United States. This year’s iteration, which features Junior, Senior, and Masters divisions, will be hosted at the University of Toronto Athletics Centre in Toronto, Ontario on March 15 and 16. Bair will be returning to umpire the CanAm Indoor Series, which was his first international umpiring assignment back in 2013. He most recently was an umpire at the 2024 Pan American Challenge in Lima, Peru last September. Bair also officiated at the 2021 Junior Pan American Championship (JPAC) and 2021 Indoor Pan American Cup (IPAC), and has officiated multiple test matches, including Canada and the U.S. Men’s National Indoor Team at the University of Toronto in March 2023. Bair is a long-time USA Field Hockey and NCAA Umpire and was appointed to the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship team in 2021.

Last June, Bulk was appointed to the umpiring team for a series of friendlies between the Indoor USWNT and Ireland, which took place at The Training Center in Spring City, Pa. She was also a part of the umpiring team for several friendlies between the U.S. Women’s National Team and Canada in September 2023.

Flood, who will be representing the United States as a technical official, most recently carried out that role at the 2024 Junior Pan American Championships in July 2024. She has been building her resume the past few years, serving as a judge for several test matches in 2019 in Lancaster, Pa. and as a judge and technical official at the Big Apple Indoor Tournament in 2020, 2022, and 2023. Domestically, Flood has been involved in Junior Premier Hockey as both a technical official and technical delegate since 2017 and 2021, respectively.
