AstroTurf Renews Sponsorship of USA Field Hockey, Preps for LA28
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Field Hockey is pleased to announce a continued partnership with AstroTurf. After almost a half century of innovation and research, AstroTurf pitches continue to be the gold standard for field hockey fields in the United States, with around 100 certified fields currently laid.
In partnership with the United States Performance Center, in 2023 USA Field Hockey and AstroTurf installed a replica of the playing surface to be used at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. This playing surface is now the new home of the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams and is a training facility for all national junior and Hockey5s teams. In partnership with the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games committee and the International Hockey Federation, (FIH), the four organizations are collaborating on how to bring the best possible playing experience to the 2028 Olympic Games where the global world of field hockey will compete and make history in Los Angeles.
In the spirit of collaboration to support USA Field Hockey’s mission and welcome the top teams to compete at LA28, AstroTurf has renewed its long-time sponsorship with the USA Field Hockey to provide resources and financial support in addition to guidance and deep experience in constructing and maintaining the ideal playing surface for the sport.
“We are thrilled to renew our sponsorship with USA Field Hockey,” said Melissa Vassalotti-Twist, AstroTurf’s US-based Director of Field Hockey. “Our longstanding support extends beyond a partnership - it reflects AstroTurf’s deep commitment to field hockey and its continued growth. We greatly appreciate USA Field Hockey’s dedication to serving the hockey community across the United States and share their passion for inspiring young athletes while elevating the elite level of the game. Our relationship with the entire USA Field Hockey team is something we truly value, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration to grow the sport and make a lasting impact on the game of hockey.”
“We are excited to extend our partnership with Astroturf, the best artificial turf in the industry,” said Simon Hoskins, USA Field Hockey’s Executive Director. “With Polytan and AstroTurf being the providers of the pitch for LA28, it is ever more important to continue this relationship as we lead into the Games. We value AstroTurf and know they share in our mission and commitment to grow the game.”
“As a long-time partner and official sponsor of USA Field Hockey, we couldn’t be more grateful to AstroTurf and Melissa for their long-standing support of field hockey as a sport in the United States and to USA Field Hockey as the national governing body,” said Ginger Wheeler, USA Field Hockey’s Commercial Partnerships and Marketing Manager. “AstroTurf shares our goals and mission which is truly the mark of a committed partner. Whether showing up to meetings, working with growing programs or helping to financially support programs like USA Field Hockey Foundation’s Hall of Fame, AstroTurf can always be counted on to come through. We rely on the support of our corporate partners to be successful, and AstroTurf has come through for us time and time again as a collaborator and true friend to the sport of field hockey.”
